What
kind of a world are we leaving future
generations?
As we are faced with unprecedented challenges
locally and globally,
many individuals, organizations, and communities are
embracing the path of sustainability to transform
these challenges into opportunities. Sustainability
is a systems approach to living, doing business and
developing communities that addresses ecological
balance, social justice and economic viability.
The Natural World is a storehouse of 3.8 billion
years wisdom that we can learn from and apply to
creating lives, organizations & communities that
thrive.
Sustainability calls us to see the forest and the
trees – to recognize our place in the interconnected
web of life and to make choices and take actions
that reflect that understanding, to consider the
health of the whole - the ecosystems and human
communities that we are a part of.
While sustainability is generally considered a 3
legged stool, ReSourcing has added another component
to the sustainability equation- ethics- so the
triple bottom line is now quadruple – the 4 ‘e’s or
the 4 ‘p’s as illustrated in the diagram below.

Sustainability is
“living and working in harmony
with other humans and the rest of the natural
world wherein meeting our needs enhances the capacity of future generations to
meet theirs.”
